I'm playing this one pretty small. Ten points is a lot to lay, and to be honest, I can't remember the last time I layed double digits. But I think this is a really bad matchup for Plummer and Co.

Indianapolis 48 Denver 21

Jason David picked off three Jake Plummer passes, returning one for a TD, and Peyton Manning threw for three of his own, as the Colts cruised into the second round of the playoffs. Mike Vanderjagt added four field goals in a game that was over at the half.

Indy was up 30-0 at the intermission, dominating Denver on both sides of the ball, holding the Broncos to one first down and outgaining them 264-39 in the first thirty minutes in a game eerily similar to the one played in Indy in the playoffs last year.

Plummer, who's struggled with turnovers all year, threw three picks in the first half and four for the game. He finished 21-38 for 248 yards and three touchdowns. The Colts defense took the Denver running game out of thew equation early, holding their backs to just 41 yards on 13 carries.

Manning completed 16-31 for 207 yards, and Edgerrin James added 101 yards on 24 carries.

Dominick Rhodes set the tone right away, returning the opening kickoff 84 yards, down to the Denver 16, setting up a 14 yard TD from Manning to Brandon Stokely, who spun past his defender, diving into the end zone.

On Denver's first possession, Plummer was picked off by David, who returned it down to the Bronco 12. James pounded it in from one yard out after his third straight rush to put Indy up 14-0 before five minutes had elapsed, and the rout was on.

Vanderjagt kicked his first field goal later in the quarter, following a 85 yard, 12 play drive that saw Manning hook up for gains of 29 and 22 yards to his tight ends, Dallas Clark and Marcus Pollard, and added another with 7:00 left in the second quarter following a 62 yard drive to make it 20-0. The Colts held the ball over six minutes on that drive.

Denver got their only first down of the half on the ensuing possession, but again were forced to punt, and Manning led Indy on an 80 yard drive, ending in a 17 yard touchdown run by Rhodes, to make it 27-0, ending pretty much any hope the Broncs had of pulling off the upset.

Worked out pretty much according to script, with less Edge and more Peyton.
